In Kiev for bitcoins freed Russian expert in cryptocurrency
Russian specialist in the field of IT and blockchain-technologies Paul Lerner released in Kiev. About it to Agency Reuters said the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko.
According to him, the kidnappers released the employee EXMO Finance after he received a ransom of one million dollars in bitcoins. The hostage is safe, he did not cause physical harm. At the moment he experiences the consequences of severe stress and are not able to comment.
It is not known who paid the ransom. EXMO Finance argues that the work of Lerner, the company does not provide access to the financial assets.
On the abduction of Lerner became known on 27 December. A programmer was kidnapped near his place of employment and office center on the street of Stepan Bandera (formerly Moscow Avenue). Unknown in balaclavas force dragged him into a van and disappeared. In Ukraine, the 40-year-old Lerner led a number of startups, technology mining of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain.
