Putin signed the law on raising the minimum wage

MOSCOW, 29 Dec — RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin signed the law on raising the minimum wage (SMIC) to the level of the subsistence minimum. The law published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

From 2019 on, he will always be equal to the subsistence minimum for the second quarter of the year.

Now the minimum wage is 7800 rubles.

The earlier document was approved by the state Duma and the Federation Council.

To raise the minimum wage from the current 71-72 per cent of the subsistence minimum up to 85 percent and then to equate them suggested Putin himself.

The subsistence minimum is determined by the government to assess the level of life of the population in the country. Its value is used in the development of Federal social programs, establishing minimum wage, the size of scholarships, allowances and other social payments.
