CEC allowed Sobchak to open an electoral account and start collecting signatures

MOSCOW, 26 Dec — RIA Novosti. The Central election Commission has allowed TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak to establish a special account for formation of election Fund, giving the green light for its official election campaign.

After opening the account she will be able to start collecting signatures in his support. In addition, the CEC registered three authorized representatives of the party “Civil initiative” and also authorized the Sobchak on financial issues.

Sobchak, positioning himself as the candidate “against all”, goes to the polls from “the Civil initiative” eks-the Minister of Economics of Russia Andrey Nechaeva. On Monday, the TV host filed to the Central election Commission with relevant documents.

Candidates of non-parliamentary parties, including “Civil initiative”, for the registration of a presidential candidate should collect not less than 100 thousand signatures, and one region may have no more than 2.5 thousand. Petitions are paid for from the electoral Fund, so start collecting signatures, the candidate may only after the opening of the election account.

Petitions and a number of documents the candidate must submit to the CEC on the registration stage. After that, the CEC has ten days to examine the documents and to submit the decision on registration of a candidate or a reasoned decision to refuse. Documents for registration of candidates can be submitted from Wednesday, 27th December.

The next presidential elections will be held on March 18, 2018, the election campaign officially started on 18 December.
