From the “Goy thou” to “lol KEK”: history of the Russian language from the “Arzamas”
Educational project “Arzamas” has produced an 18-minute lecture about the history of the Russian language “from the “Goy thou” to “lol KEK””. The lecture describes where it came from Russian language, what words were used in the times of Ancient Rus (for example, “sky”, “hitting”, “sausage” and “the fleet”) and which were derived (for example, all words beginning with the letter “a”).
On the website of the “Arzamas” you can also listen to a series of podcasts devoted to different aspects of Russian language: the sound of ancient language, the dialects, the origin of swear words (part podcast not yet posted).
