Trump and Putin talked about intelligence cooperation
Moscow. 17 Dec. INTERFAX.RU — the Presidents of the United States and Russia Donald trump, and Vladimir Putin called the prevention of terrorist attacks in St. Petersburg with the help of the CIA as an example of how cooperation between the two countries leads to positive results, according to the White house.
“Russian President Vladimir Putin called today (Sunday — if) President Donald Trump to thank him for the timely warning of the intelligence services of the USA sent to Russia in connection with the preparation of a major terrorist attack in St. Petersburg”, — stated in the message.
It is noted that “on the basis of information provided by the United States, the Russian authorities were able to capture terrorists just before the attack, which could claim the lives of a large number of people.”
“Not a single Russian was killed, and the terrorists were caught and are now in custody. President trump appreciated the conversation and reported to President Putin that he and all of the intelligence community of the United States were glad to help save so many lives”, — underlined in the message.
According to the White house, during the conversation, the us President “stressed the importance of cooperation between intelligence agencies (US and Russia — Interfax) to victory over the terrorists, wherever they may be located.”
“The two leaders agreed that it exemplifies the positive results that can be achieved when both countries work together”, — stated in the message.
