In Ireland, two men decided to marry to avoid tax

MOSCOW, 18 Jul — RIA Novosti. Two residents of Dublin decided to enter into same-sex marriage, so as not to pay inheritance tax, reports the Irish Times.

The publication notes that the 85-year-old man who was friends with his friend, Michael O’sullivan for nearly 30 years, he decided to pass on their property.

Under Irish law, capital gains is taxed at 33%. The receiver did not pay this kind of tax, the men decided to marry each other. At the same time they declare their traditional sexual orientation and note that doing it only for financial reasons.

The wedding is scheduled for the end of December, however, due to adverse weather conditions in Ireland, the marriage can be postponed for January.
