Press Secretary of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov in interview to TV channel “Russia 24” stated that Russia was able to complete the process of adaptation to life under sanctions and get on the path of growth. Video available on the YouTube channel “Russia 24” (19:15).
“Live in the atmosphere of restrictions, sanctions. But at the same time profiting from it, while adapting our economy and made the process of adaptation to these conditions in such a way that managed to get out of negative dynamics of growth, speaking in Russian from the trajectory of the fall and go in the path of growth in the majority of sectors of our economy”, — said Peskov.
Also, the press Secretary of the President noted that many sectors of the Russian economy show convincing growth, such as agriculture. “If you take our farmers, our villagers, they would be very unhappy if these sanctions are removed”, — he added.
In 2014, the EU, US and several other countries have introduced restrictive measures against Russia, linking them with the annexation of Crimea, and then — with the conflict in the South-East of Ukraine. In response, Moscow imposed a ban on food exports from most countries, which supported anti-Russian sanctions.
