Salvador Sobral

The winner of the contest “Eurovision-2017” Salvador Sobral transplanted heart. About it reports The Telegraph.

A four-hour operation was a success in the hospital of Santa Cruz in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. Now Sobral will be a long rehabilitation.

The singer has spent in the hospital for three months waiting for a suitable donor. All this time he was connected to the artificial heart.

Sobral won the “Eurovision” with the song Amar Pelos Dois (“Love for two”). The Portuguese arrived in Kiev for the opening of the competition on may 7 and did not participate in the rehearsals because of a heart defect, which suffers from childhood.

In September it became known that a dying 13-year-old girl from the UK has become a donor for eight people. Her heart, small intestine, pancreas and lungs were transplanted to four patients. The liver was divided into parts, which were transplanted to two patients. Girl’s kidneys saved the lives of two more people in need.
