The United States would like to remove sanctions against Russia, but this is impossible without solution of the Ukrainian question. On Thursday, December 7, said the U.S. Secretary Rex Tillerson. His words are reports Reuters from Vienna, where the Council of Ministers of internal Affairs of the countries-participants of OSCE.
“We gave Russia to understand that we have to solve the question of Ukraine. This is the hardest obstacle to restoration of relations with Russia, which we would like to achieve,” — said the Secretary of state. Earlier, on December 6, Tillerson met with the foreign Ministers of NATO and has criticized Russia for state-funded hacking and disinformation campaign against the West.
7 December, the head of Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held their first 2014 in-person meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Pavel Klimkin.
Relations between Kyiv and Moscow deteriorated sharply after the accession of Crimea to Russia in March 2014 and the beginning of the conflict in the Donbass in April of the same year. Ukraine regularly accuses neighbor in the conduct of hostilities in the South-East of its territory and calls the aggressor. Moscow denies the accusations.
