Pope Francis has called for a change of the prayer “our father”. About it reports Reuters.
According to the Pontiff, it is necessary to choose the more correct translation. This is due to the fact that now when you read the prayers in English or some other languages may feel that “God decides whether to enter us into temptation or not,” he said.
“This is an incorrect translation,” said Pope Francis, adding that in this interpretation there is a feeling that it is the Lord who provokes us into temptation.
The Pontiff noted that in France the text of the prayer has already been modified, it now reads “do not let us succumb to temptation”. The Pope explained that in this translation it becomes clear that the blame for temptation lies with the person.
The gospel tells us that our father gave to his disciples Jesus Christ after they asked him to teach them prayer.
