Sestroretskiy district court of St.-Petersburg on Thursday ordered the confiscation of state property of 16 objects of real estate in St. Petersburg for a total amount of more than 880 million rubles belonging “to the Society of the watchtower Bible and tract of Pennsylvania”, registered in the U.S., said Thursday in United a press-service of the courts of St. Petersburg. Previously, the organization received objects from the banned in Russia “administrative center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia.”

“The Sestroretsk district court of St.-Petersburg has satisfied the petition of Prosecutor’s office of the Resort area to the legal entity “Society watchtower Bible and tract of Pennsylvania” and seized the property of the state property complex of the 16 real estate objects (land plots, houses, buildings) the total cadastral value of 881 407 566 rubles,” — said the press service.

The court found that in 2000, “administrative centre of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia” transferred property complex on the Gulf of Finland in the form of donations, “Society watchtower Bible and tract of Pennsylvania”, registered in the United States.

However, the centre, according to the press service of the court, continued to use the complex, so the court considered this transaction and the imaginary invalid. The property is converted to property of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, the Supreme court acknowledged “Jehovah’s Witnesses” extremist organization and banned the organization’s activities in Russia.
