The injured 1936 birth told police that half-a-million rubles and put them in the Bank on Taganskaya street. On the way home she was approached by a stranger, who was presented the employee of the Bank and told of the imminent change of currency in Russia. She invited the interviewee to give her his savings so she can exchange them for new money. Together they went to the Bank where the pensioner withdrew the accumulated rubles and gave it to a companion.

Women agreed to meet in the same Department a few hours to pass the new bills. All this time the pensioner was sitting in the yard next to the Bank, and when he returned, he learned from staff that there is no change in the currency in the country.

After the incident, she wrote a statement to the police about the fraud. The interior Ministry said that an elderly woman was unable to immediately reach the police Department because of health problems.
