Gennady Zyuganov, Continued: In the security Council questioned the need to discuss the burial of Lenin

Communist party leader Gennady Zyuganov called the bill for the burial of the body of Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin the biggest provocation against the Russian state. On Friday, April 21, reports RIA Novosti.

“We do not just see it as a challenge to the public, we see this as a major provocation against the Russian state”, — said the politician.

According to him, the bill must be considered at the security Council of Russia and the Communist party to give an official response. “Guarantors must guarantee the stability of the country”, — said Zyuganov, Interfax reports.

The document was submitted to the state Duma by deputies from fractions of LDPR and “United Russia” on Thursday, April 20. The parliamentarians proposed to establish a Commission that will deal with the question of the burial of Lenin, and to make the necessary amendments to the law “About burial”.

Later, however, United Russia withdrew its signature under the bill.

Deputy Secretary of General Council of United Russia Yevgeny Revenko said that the MPs did not discuss this legislative initiative with his faction. He stressed that the EP is in favour of laws that are “aimed at strengthening harmony in the society, not to split”.

Lenin’s mausoleum was listed as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 1990. Of the state on whose territory the objects are located from this list, commit themselves to preserve them.
