The white house confirmed that trump congratulated Erdogan on the results of the referendum
The US President also discussed with the Turkish leader of Washington’s actions in response to the Syrian regime use of chemical weapons on April 4.

The President of the United States Donald trump held Monday a telephone conversation with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan and congratulated him on the results of the referendum held in Turkey on 16 April. This is stated in a statement released by the White house.
President trump “congratulated Erdogan on his recent victory in the referendum and discussed (approx. TASS) the US actions in response to the use of the Syrian regime (of President Bashar al-Assad — approx. TASS) chemical weapons 4 April,” the report says.
The head of the Washington administration also “thanked President Erdogan for his support of the” attack of the U.S. armed forces at the Syrian air base. “The leaders agreed on the importance of bringing Assad to justice, concluded at the White house. President trump and President Erdogan also discussed the military campaign against ISIS (banned in the Russian terrorist group “Islamic state” — approx. TASS), and the need to cooperate in the fight against all groups that use terrorism to achieve their goals.”

“We thank the OSCE for their important work, and we note the problems identified in the initial evaluations of past campaigns and voting. Among those problems is the revealed violations on the voting day, as well as unequal conditions during the pre-election period, which took place in conditions of emergency. We expect the final report by OSCE / ODIHR in the drafting of which, we understand, will take several weeks,” said Toner.
Held on Sunday in Turkey, the referendum was won by the supporters of amending the Constitution. According to preliminary results of counting of 99.9% of the ballots, a package of amendments to the Constitution of the Republic spoke of 51.3% of the population, the turnout was 86%.
Constitutional changes, in particular, provide for the introduction in Turkey, the presidential form of government is parliamentary. The post of Prime Minister is abolished, and the President will have the right to appoint a Vice-President, Ministers, some members of the Board of judges and prosecutors.
