“The reason for the introduction of quarantine became a laboratory confirmed diagnosis of rabies in a domestic animal — cat. The animal was not previously vaccinated against rabies,” said the Committee.

Earlier, on 12 April, on the portal of the city government was taken by the mayor Sergey Sobyanin about the quarantine in the district of Nekrasovka. Until June 9 there has prohibited the exhibition of cats and dogs, and sell animals. In addition, dogs and cats can not be exported beyond the territory of the district.

From the beginning of 2017 quarantine for rabies on the territory of Moscow entered for the first time.

In March, the TV channel “360” reported that in the Lotoshinsky district of the Moscow region recorded the fourth since the beginning of the year, a case of rabies in wild animals. Then in the village of Vvedenskoye for houses infected Fox came out and attacked the cat. The predator was eliminated. What happened to the cat, was not specified.

In November 2016 in the capital’s Otradnoye district was entered quarantine for rabies. Measures taken in connection with the attack of a cat infected with this infectious disease to seven people. All the victims in the incident were directed to antiviral therapy. A sick cat could not be saved.
