In the presidential elections in South Ossetia ended with the vote
TSKHINVALI, April 9. /TASS/. The vote ended in the presidential elections of South Ossetia and the referendum on the renaming of the Republic in the State of Alania at 20:00 local time (coincides with Moscow — approx. TASS). The counting of votes, which will be conducted manually. The first results of the elections and referendum will be announced closer to midnight.
The citizens of South Ossetia could vote for one of the three candidates: incumbent President Leonid Tibilov, speaker of Parliament Anatoly Bibilov and KGB Alana Gagloeva and the referendum on the issue of renaming of the Republic, in 77 stations. Of these, 72 were opened in the territory of the Republic, five more — abroad: embassies in Moscow and Sukhum (Abkhazia), twice in the capital of North Ossetia in Vladikavkaz, one in the Prigorodny district of North Ossetia, where CEC formed an additional land.
In Abkhazia, as reported by TASS informed the CEC of South Ossetia, due to the lack of ballots, the voting ended around 15:00 (time coincides with Moscow), and was then unsealed ballot boxes and counted the votes with the permission of the CEC, the consent of the observers and all stakeholders. The site was closed at 20:00, as required by law.
Without serious violations
Elections in South Ossetia were held without major violations, noted by almost all officials, and foreign observers.
“Violations at polling stations no. There are minor violations that are significant for the elections had not, they were allowed on the ground. Those statements that came to the polling stations, was considered on time. It first says about high and good preparation for the elections”, — told reporters the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uruzmag Jagāis.
The head of the Ministry of internal Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar of Lavoe announced earlier this year that revealed several cases of campaigning outside polling stations, but they were promptly suppressed.
The CEC also did not reveal violations and complaints the office had not received.
