Test pilot, Hero of Soviet Union Stepan Mikoyan died on 95-th year of life, reports a press-service of the Corporation “MiG”. “On March 24 2016, in the 95th year, died the Hero of Soviet Union, honored test pilot of the USSR, Lieutenant General of aviation Stepan anastasovich Mikoyan”, – stated in the message. He was born July 12, 1922 in Tbilisi (Georgia) in the family of a Soviet statesman and a future Hero of Socialist Labor – Anastas Mikoyan. Father Stephen was the brother of the famous Soviet aircraft designer Artem Mikoyan. Anastas Mikoyan was the head of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1964-1965.
