Criminal case on signs of the crime provided by part 3 of article 109 of the criminal code of Russian Federation (causing death on imprudence to two and more persons) was filed a few hours after the collapse of one of the 12 entrances of the house № 164 on the Avenue of Karl Marx in Magnitogorsk early in the morning of 31 December 2018.

According to the investigation, the publication Baza, to the explosions involved in at least three local residents, within six months preparing a series of attacks during the new year eve likely died in the “Gazelle”. Two of them Dec 30, rented an apartment on the second floor of the seventh entrance of the house № 164. According to the publication, the explosion of high-rises were supposed to happen the morning of January 1 after a series of attacks across the city (one of the explosive devices found the janitor in front of the shopping center “Continent”). Earlier, the head of Magnitogorsk Sergey Berdnikov said in an interview with TASS that the explosion likely occurred on the second or third floor.
Now in Magnitogorsk work on the dismantling of seventh and eighth entrances of the affected house. The regional authorities planned to keep the building, dividing it into two parts. However on January, 17th the President of Russia Vladimir Putin instructed the Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky to settle the house as a whole. According to preliminary data, this will require about 1.3 billion rubles.
