In Mexico, the mayor was assassinated after 1.5 hours after taking office
MEXICO city, 2 Jan. /TASS/. Alejandro Aparicio, head of the municipality of Tlaxiaco in the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico, on Tuesday became the victim of an assassination attempt after 1.5 hours after taking office. This was reported by representatives of the authorities of the region.
“I strongly condemn the attack on the head of the municipality of Tlaxiaco — wrote in his Twitter Governor of Oaxaca Alejandro Murat. — I demanded a thorough investigation from the attorney General, and he informed me that the alleged killer was arrested.”
The attack on Aparicio was wounded two more people.
The politician represented a “Movement of national revival” — a left-wing party, created by President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
