Moscow. 14 Aug. INTERFAX.RU — Trust of citizens to the weather forecasts, prepared by Roshydromet, is expected to grow by 2020, 10% should be from the “road map” to improve the efficiency of the Department.

According to the document signed on 6 August (available at the disposal of “Interfax”), is now only 60% of Russians trust the weather forecasts. This indicator is calculated on the basis of polls, “Levada-Center” on a representative nationwide sample of urban and rural population aged 18 years and over by personal interview.
In Roshydromet is planned that already by the end of this year this figure will increase by 5% by 2020 — 10%.
Objective statistics the accuracy of predictions is also expected to grow. Roshydromet plans to reduce by almost a third (30%), the number of unmet forecasts of hazardous weather phenomena. In addition, the Agency for two years, plan to increase the “range” forecast of Russia’s administrative centers from the current six to eight-nine days. This will be possible thanks to “new technology forecasting,” the document says.
Earlier it was reported that in the Moscow World meteorological centre was purchased new supercomputer peak performance of almost 1.3 petaflops. In addition, less powerful machines appeared in the Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk. Moscow computer started, it gradually began to transfer current calculation of weather forecasts.
