On Friday, there appeared information on detention of a US citizen in the village of Lawrence. The official representative of the foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that the American John Martin William the Third, who was in Soldotna, Alaska and lives in anchorage, traveled the Yukon river and the boat happened to be in the open sea, after which he was carried to the coast of Chukotka.
According to her, the traveler has already passed a medical examination, he is in a satisfactory condition.
The Consulate General of the USA in Vladivostok reported that aware of the situation, the mission is working with local authorities and is providing consular services.
