The Federal penitentiary service began an investigation after the emergence of videos of torture in the Yaroslavl colony
Previously, prisoners have complained of beatings in the penal colony № 1 of the Yaroslavl region.
Moscow. July 20. INTERFAX.RU — FSIN Management across Yaroslavl region carries out an inspection on the popular “Novaya Gazeta” material, including video, about the subtle torture of a prisoner of one of the local colonies, reported in a press-service UFSIN.
“In connection with the appearance in the media of videos about Commission in June 2017 illegal actions from employees of one of the correctional colonies UFSIN across Yaroslavl region official inspection”, — said the press service, received by “Interfax”.
It noted that “by results of check the decision on attraction of guilty persons to responsibility”.
On Friday, the “Novaya Gazeta” published a video in which people in the form of prison staff beat a man with batons and poured water on him from a bucket in the room of the colony.
According to the newspaper, the video captured the officers of the penal colony No. 1 of the Federal penitentiary service for the Yaroslavl region, and the man who beat the prisoner Evgeny Makarov. The incident, caught on video, occurred on 29 June 2017, the newspaper claims.
Notoriety of the colony
Penal colony number 1 FPS of the Yaroslavl region has been the center of a scandal involving the beating of prisoners. So, in 2017, the person involved in business on disorders on Bolotnaya square Ivan Sciences and two other prisoners complained of beatings by staff.
Prosecutors and investigators then began checking on the statement about the beating of prisoners.
