The state Duma supported the bill on the elimination of the military departments
MOSCOW, 17 Jul — RIA Novosti. The state Duma adopted in the first reading a government bill on the elimination of military departments in higher educational institutions.
Now training at universities is conducted in the military training centers, military departments and faculties of the military training. In particular, 34 training centre training officers for further service under the contract for 72 military occupational specialties. Also 83 the military departments to train officers and soldiers of the reserve at 150 and 90 specializations, respectively.
The bill proposes to establish a single view of the units of training — military training centres.
Deputy Vladimir Shamanov emphasized the importance of such military training, and added that thus for the Armed forces specialists on the most complex and high-tech military occupational specialties. According to him, the purpose of the bill is to improve the management of the learning process of students.
He added that the amount of military training will only increase, reduce teaching staff and the military departments do not plan to.
Earlier Shamanov said that the changes will not affect the students, they relate to the unification of the titles, credentials and diplomas.
In turn, state Secretary — Deputy defense Minister Nikolai Pankov said that the level of military training of students will remain high. He said that this idea was agreed with the rector’s community, and a bill has not received any comments.
