Media: investigators began questioning Netanyahu’s on new business
The Israeli police investigators arrived Friday morning at the residence of the Prime Minister of Israel and began questioning Benjamin Netanyahu in the so-called 4000. It is reported by Israeli public radio. According to the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, in parallel, the police are questioning Prime Minister’s wife Sara Netanyahu in the same case.
In the case of 4,000 investigators are checking the suspicion that the Prime Minister has provided the telecommunications company “Bezeq” favors in return for positive coverage of his government’s information portal Walla!, which is owned by the communications giant.
Last month police arrested a former press Secretary Netanyahu Nira Chafetz and former Director General of the Ministry of communications Shlomo Filber suspected of that were in corrupt relationships with’ul Lovecam, which belongs to the “Bezeq”.
Netanyahu had previously held in this case as a witness.
Other things
For 2017 the investigators seven times questioned Netanyahu at his residence in Jerusalem for the so-called cases of 1000 and 2000 in which the police found out the details of the alleged improper registration of gifts received from the two businessmen and alleged attempts to influence the editorial policy of the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
13 February 2018 the police made a statement that he considers the evidence sufficient for submission to the Prime Minister of the charges on the two being investigated in its relation to cases of abuse.
The decision on whether to indict the charges to the head of the government, should take the attorney-General of the Jewish state, away Mandelblit on the basis of the police investigation.
Netanyahu’s Position
The head of the Cabinet had previously rejected all charges in its address on business 1000 and 2000, which were originally announced in several media. In case 4000 is in the middle of last month, he said that “what is happening goes beyond all limits” as “there are two delusional and false accusations”. According to Netanyahu, it’s part waged against him in recent years of persecution.
