Lawyers of the Ministry of culture asking to revoke the rental license of the film “Death of Stalin”
According to the authors, in the film there are signs of extremism and distorted history.
MOSCOW, January 23. /TASS/. A group of lawyers of the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation requests the head of Department Vladimir Medina to revoke the rental license at the painting “Death of Stalin”, whose premiere is scheduled for January 25, because of signs of extremism. “The film “Death of Stalin” directed at inciting hatred and enmity, humiliation of Russian (Soviet) people, the propaganda of inferiority of a person on grounds of his social and national identity, and it is signs of extremism. In accordance with paragraph 20 of the Rules of issuing, refusal and revoking the license, the rental license is subject to revocation if the viewing of the film revealed that the film contains information the dissemination of which is prohibited by the legislation of the Russian Federation”, — stated in the text.
According to the authors, the images of some historical figures, particularly of Marshal Georgy Zhukov, presented in a distorted way.
“Zhukov is a militant clown, and this, incidentally, is an outstanding leader, a talented strategist, Marshal of the Soviet Union, largely due to the leadership which our army won the great Patriotic war, his name is inseparably merged with the great Victory. The film was made without any respect to our history, to the memory of previous generations”, — emphasized in circulation.
“We are confident that the film is made in order to pervert, to distort the past of our country, to the period of life of the Soviet people in 50-e years was only horror and disgust. We ask you, dear Vladimir Medinsky as a historian, and just as a citizen, personally, to closely look at this film and take in our view the only correct decision not to allow its screening in Russia”, — authors add.
