The CPS Wednesday, January 17, announced the establishment of a hotline on which citizens will be able to consult in case they will refuse to accept the new banknotes of 200 and 2 thousand rubles. As noted on the Agency’s website, the decision was taken after reports of such failures appeared in the media.

What kind of novelty?
Officially, the Central Bank introduced new banknotes in denominations of 200 and 2 thousand in October 2017. Then they had to start to come into circulation. But the Central Bank warned that the massive bill will go only in December 2017.
On plans to introduce a new bill to “simplify the calculations of citizens for goods and services”, became known in 2016, told the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina. In the spring of 2016 was announced a national competition for the development of their design, which was completed in October of the same year. It filed about 5 thousand applications, participants suggested that the attractions of the more than one thousand Russian cities. The finalists were the far East and Sebastopol.
Since then, the design of the banknotes was in secrecy. For the first time wide audience was able to see the results at the presentation held on 12 October 2017, on the date of receipt of bills in circulation.
How do they look?
Denomination of 200 rubles devoted to Sevastopol. Her main color is green. The obverse shows a view of the Chersonese, on the back — the famous monument to the scuttled ships. The Central Bank stressed that its production is used for paper increased density of polymer impregnation, which will allow it to remain longer in circulation.
