Scientists revealed the relationship of lack of sleep to alcoholism
MOSCOW, 11 Dec — RIA Novosti. Lack of sleep can lead to alcoholism in young people, this is the conclusion reached by scientists from Yale University. Their work publishes MedicalXpress.
The study involved 42 young men who had previously reported excessive alcohol consumption. Every day during the week they filled out questionnaires in which they recorded the amount of alcohol drunk. The participants in the study wore the device for measuring the duration of sleep.
It turned out that a short sleep and early rise subsequently lead to a greater consumption of alcohol. At the same time, consumed large amounts of alcohol tend to stay up late than those who drink little or not at all adhere to a sober lifestyle.
Previously, scientists from the University of California in Los Angeles found that sleep deprivation slows down brain activity that lays the Foundation for cognitive failures in perception of the world, causing temporary memory loss and vision problems.
