The head of Yakutia Egor Borisov announced on 11 a day of mourning in the Republic for the nine who died in an accident on the highway “Kolyma”. This was reported on the website of the regional government.
“It’s hard on the heart from the incident. All Yakutsk it is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable loss. The entire country mourns with you. We will not leave you alone with their problems”, — said Borisov to the relatives of the victims of the accident.
Monday in the whole territory of Yakutia will be lowered national flags, broadcasters and cultural institutions recommended to cancel entertainment programs and events.
The incident occurred on the evening of 8 December at the 16th kilometer of the Federal highway “Kolyma” in Megino-Kangalassky region of Yakutia. Minibus UAZ drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a truck KAMAZ. After impact the car caught fire. Among the dead were a young child.
