NIZHNY NOVGOROD, December 6 /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the complete defeat of the “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in the RF group) on both banks of the Euphrates in Syria.
“Two hours ago, the defense Minister [Sergei Shoigu] reported that the operations on the Eastern and Western banks of the Euphrates completed the complete defeat of terrorists”, – told reporters the head of state.
“Of course, can still be pockets of resistance, but in General combat work at this stage and in this territory is over. Fully finished, repeat, victory and defeat terrorists,” the President said.
