Genetics said, why not work diet

MOSCOW, 5 Dec — RIA Novosti. The performance of a particular diet depends on the genetics of a particular person, to such conclusion researchers from the Texas A&M University, their work published in the journal Genetics.

For the research scientists led the data indicate that, despite the wide spread of various diets and state programs to support healthy lifestyles, the number of Americans with obesity is increasing. The researchers suggested that the basis of how the body responds to a particular type of food, on the individual genetic features.

The scientists used artificially bred lines of mice with four different genetic types. Rodents received four most common types of human food — “Western” (rich in fat and refined carbohydrate), ketogenic (high fat, protein and low — carbs), Mediterranean (grain and red wine extract), Japanese (rice and green tea extract).
