China has opposed U.S. withdrawal from the INF Treaty
BEIJING, 2 Feb. /TASS/ — the Chinese foreign Ministry urged the United States and Russia to resolve differences through dialogue.
China opposes unilateral U.S. withdrawal from the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty) and urges Moscow and Washington to resolve their differences through dialogue. This is stated in the published on Saturday the spokesperson of the Chinese foreign Ministry Geng Shuang.
“The expansion of the INF Treaty raised a number of complex political, military and legal issues, many States expressed their concern in this regard”, — said the diplomat.
“China opposes the versatility of this agreement. Primary task is to uphold the existing agreement and the commitments on it, not destroying the old and creating a new contract,” the document reads.
