The Prosecutor’s office of Venezuela launched an investigation against opposition leader

The Prosecutor’s office of Venezuela initiated a preliminary investigation against opposition leader Juan Guido. This was announced on Tuesday the General public Prosecutor Tarek William Saab.

“We are here to ask [the court] to take preventive measures at the time of the investigation,” he said.
According to Saab, the Prosecutor General’s office considers it necessary “to prohibit, Guide to leave the country and make a property”. In addition, the authority has been asked to freeze accounts of opposition.
January 23, Guido, whose appointment to the post of speaker of Parliament two days earlier revoked by the Supreme court of Venezuela, declared himself acting President of the country. On the same day, the US recognized him as the interim head of state, and then acting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro called the incident a coup attempt and announced the severance of diplomatic relations with the United States.
