The state Department created the position of representative for Venezuela
WASHINGTON, January 26. /TASS/. Elliott Abrams was appointed the U.S. state Department to the new position of special representative for Venezuela. About the creation of this post and the appointment was announced by the Secretary of state Michael Pompeo at the briefing for journalists in Washington on Friday.
“Elliott will be a worthy member of the team, which will help the people of Venezuela to fully restore democracy and bring the country to prosperity,” said Pompeo.
Abrams was Deputy assistant to U.S. President George W. Bush (2001-2009) national security.
