The government gave positive feedback on the draft laws on contempt

The Russian government has given positive reviews to all four of the draft law on the punishment the fake news and “clear disrespect” to authorities and society, reported “Interfax” the Chairman of the Duma Committee on state construction and legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov.

“Paper (two missing opinion of the government.— “B”) came in the night. Both reviews are positive,” said Mr. Krasheninnikov.

We will remind, four bills were introduced in the state Duma on 12 December by a group of parliamentarians headed by Senator Andrey Clisham. In the first reading they will be reviewed January 24. Representatives of the Prosecutor General and the Ministry of communications at the enlarged meeting of the state Duma Committee on information policy, the bills criticized. However, later the Prosecutor General’s office opinion has changed.

On the eve of the Council of the state Duma threatened to postpone the first reading of the bills, if the government does not send official opinion on amendments to the administrative code, which introduced new types of fines for spreading fake news in the media and also posted the materials, “expressing indecently clear disrespect” to public authorities or to society. Another condition was the presence at the meeting of the representative of the Ministry of communications. Otherwise, the state Duma would refuse to consider two bills that have already had an official opinion of the government.
