A national Park within the semuc champey is a cluster of small waterfalls, cascades and pools with crystal clear emerald water, located right in the heart of the jungle.

Within the semuc champey from the kekchi Indian language translates as “place where the river goes underground”, and indeed it is.

Within the semuc champey is a limestone bridge, starting with a mountain river Cahabon goes underground and comes out only 300 meters. Despite this, the water still flows on the surface, forming small cascades and pools to a depth of 1 to 3 meters. A large waterfall within the semuc champey only one — where the river returns to the surface of the earth.
