The US government partially suspended its work from December 22

WASHINGTON, December 22. /TASS/ — Previously, the Senate adopted a resolution on the budget.

The U.S. Senate concluded its meeting on Friday, did not vote on the draft resolution on another temporary extension of the government’s work until February 8, 2019, making inevitable a partial shutdown of some Federal agencies from midnight on 22 Dec local time (08:00 GMT Saturday). Stream of the meeting, was carried on the website of the upper house of the legislature.

Earlier the meeting was closed and the House of representatives. Both chambers are now able to gather just after noon on Saturday (20:00 MSK Saturday). Meanwhile, the period of compromise between the two chambers of Congress and the President of the United States expires at midnight of Friday to Saturday, local time. Since the budget resolution was not adopted, since Saturday, part of the offices will be closed.

The resolution, which was considered on Friday by the Senate, passed the House of representatives to include expenses in the amount of $5.7 billion for the construction of a wall on the border with Mexico, which has insisted the US President Donald trump. In support of the resolution, then voted 217 congressmen, 185 — opposed. But the Democrats in the Senate warned that they have enough votes to block any resolution that includes funding for the walls in this large volume. Compromise in the day to achieve and failed.

At the moment, U.S. lawmakers have not passed a budget for the 2019 fiscal year, which began in the U.S. on October 1.

It was necessary to approve before the end of the day on 21 December (08:00 GMT Saturday). Without funding now, it will be about a quarter of the Federal government, particularly the state Department, the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of trade and Ministry of internal security. For the rest of the agencies Congress has previously approved the allocation of funds until the end of September 2019.
