Putin noted the contribution of President Bush in strengthening the cooperation of Russia and the United States
Moscow. 1 Dec. INTERFAX.RU — Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences on the demise of the 41st U.S. President George Bush.

“Gone from the life of a remarkable man, all his life faithfully served his country in arms during the war and in high government posts in time of peace. Leading the United States on one of the most important stages in world history, he showed great political wisdom and vision, sought to make sound decisions even in the most difficult situations”, — is spoken in the telegram of condolences to Putin, addressed to George Bush.
Realizing the importance of a constructive dialogue between the two major nuclear powers, George H. W. Bush did much to strengthen Russian-American cooperation on international security issues.
The Russian President notes that he was fortunate to meet with Bush. “With special warmth I remember how he organized our meeting in their wonderful estate in Kennebunkport,” writes Putin.
“The bright memory of George H. W. Bush will remain forever in my heart and in the hearts of my countrymen. In such a sad time I would like to convey words of sincere sympathy and support to all members of your extended family. Let the courage to leave you the face of this heavy, irreplaceable loss”, — the telegram says.
As previously reported, former US President George Bush senior died at the age of 94 in Houston.
