The national security Council said the timing of the introduction of martial law in Ukraine
Moscow. 27 Nov. INTERFAX.RU — IN the Council of national security and defense Council (NSDC) explained how and where to act martial law imposed by the decree of the President of Petro Poroshenko and supported by Parliament.

“In accordance with the law of Ukraine “On approval of decree of the President of Ukraine “On introduction of martial law in Ukraine” (No. 9338), adopted by Parliament on 26 November, the military situation in Ukraine, introduced in Vinnytsia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Odesa, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson areas, and also in the internal waters of the Azov-Kerch water area from 14:00 on 26 Nov at 14:00 26 Dec 2018“, — stated in the press service of the NSDC, published on Tuesday.
The Council of national security and defense reminded that the law initiated by the President of Ukraine, with consideration of its proposal, was supported by 276 deputies.
“According to the proposals of the war Cabinet at 00:00 on November 26 the meeting of the Council of national security and defense of Ukraine, which adopted the decision “On emergency measures for ensuring the state sovereignty and independence of Ukraine and the introduction of martial law in Ukraine.” The NSDC of Ukraine made a proposal to the President of Ukraine to introduce martial law in the country from 14:00 on 26 November 2018 for a period of 2 months (until 14:00 on 26 January 2019). The corresponding decree of the President of Ukraine was amended on 26 November to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine”, — said in explanation.
The national security Council noted that after discussing this issue in the Parliament, the President of Ukraine adopted a decision on reduction of terms of introduction of martial law for up to 30 days, as publicly announced to the citizens of Ukraine.
“The decision of the NSDC of Ukraine of November 26, 2018 supported the initiative of the President of Ukraine and amended the previous decision. In this regard, was prepared by the new decree of the President of Ukraine № 392/2018 on the introduction of martial law for a period of 30 days (in accordance with 14:00 on 26 Nov at 14:00 on 26 December 2018)”, — explained in the national security Council.
In the discussion of the law of Ukraine “On approval of decree of the President of Ukraine “On introduction of martial law in Ukraine” (No. 9338) Petro Poroshenko agreed to limit the application of decree ten areas, as stated in his speech in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
