A nightmare of a perfectionist: what is the “curve” a village in England (photos)

In the British County of Suffolk there is a small village called Lavenham, and its architecture is unique. But it was an accident.
In the XV century, Lavenham was famous for trading in wool and woollen products. Sales were so good that the settlement grew rapidly and the local population rich. The story even described a case in 1487, Lavenham was visited by king Henry VII and fined several families for “excessive” wealth.

As the village grew very quickly, many hastily built houses of unseasoned wood, which eventually deformed.
Lavenham but the prosperity did not last long. The village was settled by Dutch refugees who began to sell clothes made of cheaper fabrics that were brighter and better than woolens.

Soon the villagers began to Peter out, and money to repair the ramshackle house they already had. So the houses and left curves. Over time, this feature Lavenham drew the attention of the travelers, and the curves of the house became a local landmark.

For greater clarity, local residents began to decorate the house strips, specifically by making them curves to create the optical illusion that the house is about to fall on top of each other.
