Trump portrayed ferried across the swamp
WASHINGTON, August 1. /TASS/. American artist John McNaughton (Jon McNaughton) presented to the public a picture of the “trump crossing the swamp”, which is reminiscent of historical painting depicting the first President of the United States “Washington crossing the Delaware”. The corresponding message with the attached image McNaughton posted Tuesday on his Twitter page.
“My new painting [called] “Crossing the swamp”. Never give up, never give up, never stop until you drain the swamp,” wrote the artist in the comments in his microblog.

Judging by the posted on Twitter the image, the work of McNaughton almost completely copies the composition of the painting American artist of the nineteenth century Emanuel Leuze dedicated to one of the key episodes of the War for US independence (1775-1783). Historical painting in 1851 commander of the Continental army and later first President of the USA George Washington in the night from 25 to 26 Dec 1776 smuggled in a boat with his troops across the Delaware river to mount a surprise attack on the positions of the British army. McNaughton depicted the same boat, only instead of Washington it is the President of trump members of his administration.
According to the artist, along with trump’s “crossing the swamp” by the U.S. permanent representative to the UN, Nikki Haley, Vice-President Mike Pence, Secretary of defense James Mattis, the attorney General Jeff sessions, Secretary of state Michael Pompeo, assistant for national security John Bolton, as well as the first lady Melania trump and daughter of the American President Ivanka.
Trump tries to cross the “Washington swamp” because he carries the light of truth, hope and prosperity. While the deep muddy water of the state (financial and political elite of the United States, putting pressure on the official authorities — approx. The expression, “the Washington swamp” entered the American political lexicon, thanks to Trump. During the election campaign in the United States in 2016, he has repeatedly compared the Washington bureaucracy and the establishment of a quagmire that must be emptied. After assuming the office of President in 2017 trump has repeatedly stated the need to begin the process of reforming American public and political life. However, all the efforts of the American leader to fulfill their campaign promises while being eroded due to the strong opposition of his political opponents in the U.S. Congress and in the Democratic party.
