Vladimir Putin has charged to work a question of construction of a bridge to Sakhalin
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had instructed the government to study the question of building a bridge that will link mainland Russia and Sakhalin island.
At the meeting with Sakhalin region Governor Oleg Kozhemyako Vladimir Putin said that the construction of the bridge is important not only for the inhabitants of the island — it can help the development of the North of Khabarovsk territory. “I understand this issue from the point of view of justice for the residents of Sakhalin, having in mind that part of the funds withdrawn to Fund the development of the Far East. Mr Kozhemyako reminded that local MPs in a letter to the President mentioned the possibility to partially Finance the construction of a bridge from the funds that are withdrawn on the agreement on production section.
