In France the party of Le Pen was stripped of state funding
MOSCOW, 8 Feb — RIA Novosti. Forensic investigators of Paris decided to hold two million euros of state subsidies, which was to get the party “National Association” (formerly the “national front”), reports channel BFMTV.
The party “National Union” and of the French party on Monday were to receive government funding. However, this does not happen — the consequence suspects the party in creating a hidden system for the misappropriation of European funds that went to the assistants of the parliamentarians.
The head of “National unification” marine Le Pen reacted to the decision on withholding of state funds, noting that it is “the death penalty” and the desire to destroy first opposition party.
As noted by the French media, according to Le Pen, since August, the party will not be able to pay their employees.
In June, the court of the European Union upheld the decision, obliging the leader of right-wing French party “National Association” to return to the European Parliament about 300 thousand euros in the investigation of cases of fictitious employment of members of the party.
Le Pen was accused of “breach of trust” in 2009-2016 years when she was a member of the European Parliament. European Bureau for combating fraud (OLAF) stated that the head office of the party of Le Pen Catherine Gzira and bodyguard Thierry Legge was fictitiously hired as assistants of the MEP. Gzira earned 298,5 thousand euros. The lawyer, Le Pen declared that intends to challenge this requirement in court.
