Russian novel was in the top three in the history
The works of Leo Tolstoy “Anna Karenina” fell into third place in the list of the best novels in the history of mankind according to the British newspaper the Daily Telegraph. The list published on the newspaper’s website.
In the first place invited by the newspaper experts put “Middlemarch” the English writer George Eliot, on the second Moby-dick by American author Herman Melville.
In fourth place is the “portrait” of Henry James, the fifth — “Heart of darkness” by Joseph Conrad.
The top ten also includes “In search of lost time” Marcel Proust, “Jane Eyre” Charlotte Bronte, “a Disgrace” by John Maxwell Coetzee, “Mrs. Dalloway” by Virginia Woolf and “don Quixote” by Miguel de Cervantes.
