Medvedev discussed with the “United Russia” proposal in the framework of the pension reform

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev held on Wednesday a meeting to discuss the proposals within the bill about the changes in the pension system. This was reported on the website of the Cabinet of the Russian Federation.
“The Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting on legislative activities with the leadership of the State Duma, representatives of presidential administration of Russia, the leadership of the Russian political party “United Russia”, the leadership of the parliamentary faction “United Russia”, with participation of representatives of financial, economic and social blocks of the government”, — stated in the message.
“Discussed the proposals contained in the submitted to the Duma draft Federal law “On amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation on the issues of assignment and payment of pensions”,” — specified on the website.
The Cabinet on 14 June considered the question about changes in the pension system. They stipulate a gradual increase in the retirement age for men to 65 years for women to 63 years during the transition period, in order to ensure the growth of pensions at a rate higher than inflation. After discussion of the draft laws on the Russian tripartite Commission, the government submitted a draft law to the state Duma.
