The CPS has reported on the spread of measles in several regions of the world
MOSCOW, June 18. /TASS/. Rospotrebnadzor urged Russians to be vaccinated before overseas travel due to the spread of measles.
“Rospotrebnadzor pays attention of citizens to information and separately notes that the only effective preventive measure against measles is vaccination, so not grafted previously without a history of measles people recommended to be vaccinated not less than 14 days before the planned visit,” she said on Monday on the Agency’s website.
It said that, according to who, the spread of measles in Europe were recorded in 28 countries on the American continent — Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, and Canada, and the United States.
“According to the Center for public health of the Ministry of health of Ukraine the incidence of measles the population of Ukraine in 2017, 70 times higher than levels in 2016. Since the beginning of 2018 in Ukraine was 20 553 cases of measles, including 8 331 among 222 adults and 12 for children, from complications of measles died 11 people”, — reported in Rospotrebnadzor.
The Ministry added that the cause of infection is low vaccination coverage of the population.
