Isaev: raising the retirement age will ensure a dignified old age
The state Duma intends to discuss the initiative in accordance with the regulations.
Raising the retirement age is necessary in order to implement the decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to improve the living conditions of Russian citizens in old age. As the correspondent of IA REGNUM, 14 June, this was stated by first Deputy Chairman of the faction “United Russia” in the state Duma Andrey Isaev.
“From our point of view, pension reform is certainly overdue. This is due to the fact that the President has set a very serious task of improving the welfare of pensioners, the indexation of pensions above the rate of inflation. It is stated in the may decree,” — said Isayev.
According to him, due to the increase in life expectancy, the number of pensioners in Russia has increased steadily.
“Burden in this regard on employees increased — if we, in the 1970 year per retiree had almost four working people, by 2019 we have one pensioner will have two employees and this trend continues. We must look for ways in order to realize the important task to provide a decent life for our seniors, to ensure real increase of pensions,” — said Isayev.
The government today discussed the option of raising the retirement age to 63 years for women and 65 years for men. It is expected that growth will be gradual and these indicators will be achieved by 2034. The final text of the bill can come to the state Duma today, June 14.
“The government intends to introduce in the state Duma a proposal for reform. When that offer arrives, we will study it carefully and to consider,” — said Isayev.
According to him, the state Duma will comply with all regulatory and legislative terms for consideration of the bill.
The bill will be discussed a month before the first reading, it would be discussed more than a month before the second reading. We will listen to the position of the Russian tripartite Commission on regulation socially-labour relations, we will consult with the Union of pensioners of Russia, public organisations and experts. In short, there is a comprehensive discussion.
