US sanctions against Russia

Dec 14, 2012 year President Barack Obama signed a law that imposed sanctions against a number of employees of power departments of the Russian Federation, involved, according to Washington, to the death in 2009 of auditor Sergei Magnitsky. Now in the “Magnitsky list” are 49 Russians, who are denied entry into the United States, accounts in U.S. banks are subject to freezing. The last time the list was expanded to 20 December 2017 — the U.S. Treasury has made it five Russians, including the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.
March 17, 2014, after the referendum in Crimea, the United States first imposed personal sanctions against 11 Russian officials. They were denied entry to the US, us assets and property frozen. The list was repeatedly extended, most recently on 6 April 2018, when it included seven businessmen and top managers, 17 officials, 12 private companies and two state agencies. The list is about 180 people.
July 17, 2014 in connection with the annexation of Crimea and the situation in the Donbass was first introduced sectoral sanctions against a number of defense, commodity companies and banks. Under the restrictions were Gazprombank, VEB, Rosneft and NOVATEK — they were forbidden to make loans in the United States for more than 90 days. Later the list was the concern “Almaz-Antey”, “Kalashnikov”, “Uralvagonzavod”, rostec, Russian agricultural Bank, VTB and others. Just under sanctions in 2014 fell more than 430 organizations. Sanctions are renewed annually, they are now valid until March 6, 2019.
2 Sep 2015 year in connection with the violation of the law on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction against Iran, North Korea, and Syria sanctions were imposed against five defense companies, including Rosoboronexport and the MiG Corporation. The U.S. agencies are prohibited to conclude contracts with them. May 9 2018 year the sanctions were extended for another five enterprises, including training center anti-aircraft missile troops in Gatchina, scientific-production concern BARL and 183rd guards anti-aircraft missile regiment.
