It is the most narrow channel in the world for ships, because its width is only 21 meters. For example, large cargo ships and ocean liners is definitely not go, but all the rest of the court that fit the size, needs to swim, this place, accompanied by special boats to avoid accidents.
The Corinth canal became a headache not one ruler. Its construction began in the beginning of VII century BC, and in operation, it was built only in the late nineteenth century, in 1893.
