Ukraine will increase its participation in NATO operations
Moscow. June 7. INTERFAX.RU — the Minister of defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak assured the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, in readiness to increase contribution to NATO operations and the focus of Kiev for membership in the system of collective security and defense Alliance. This reports the press service of the Ukrainian defense Ministry.
“We realize that the future of the Ukrainian state is inseparably linked with membership in the collective security and defence of the Alliance. Despite the difficult situation in the East of Ukraine, our contribution to the operations of the Alliance will be preserved and extended. We are also ready to continue the participation of Ukrainian units in joint military exercises and combat training. Our soldiers are ready to share the experience of fighting a hybrid of aggression,” — said Poltorak during a meeting with Stoltenberg in the headquarters of NATO (Brussels, Belgium) on Thursday.
The defense Minister briefed the Secretary General about the features of the military-political situation in Ukraine and the situation in the Donbass, and also spoke about the reforms that go in the Ukrainian defense Ministry.
