Putin responded to the comparison of himself with king
MOSCOW, 4 Jul — RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin, answering the question that he had as a king in Russia, said that this is not true, Russia is a democratic state which lives in the framework of the Constitution.
“No, you’re wrong. This was of course untrue and does not correspond to absolutely no reality, because we have a democratic state, and we all live in the framework of the Constitution”, — he said in an interview with the Austrian broadcasting company ORF. The text of the interview published on the official Kremlin website.
The President also added that the Russian Constitution stipulates that only “two consecutive terms and no more, the President can be elected”, and that is why after two legitimate terms, Putin left the post, “did not change the Constitution” and moved to the position of Prime Minister.
